Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our hotel facilities team in Dubai. You will be the first point of contact for guest repair requests and will ensure that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, visual inspections, cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves, maintain inventory, and requisition parts as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics and engineering drawings for plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Execute complex repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air‑conditioning, refrigeration and pool‑heater equipment.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems and use preventive‑maintenance software.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer‑on‑Duty duties, including rounds and readings.
• Adhere to all safety, security and company policies, reporting hazards or incidents immediately.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Advanced knowledge of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in at least three of the following: air‑conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicle maintenance, energy‑conservation or building‑management systems.
• Solid understanding of safe hand‑tool and power‑tool usage.
• Experience training or mentoring technical staff is a plus.
