Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Al Masaood Bergum is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the servicing, diagnostics, commissioning, and testing of MTU and Volvo Penta power systems. The position involves hands‑on engine maintenance, on‑site work, customer coordination, and comprehensive reporting to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, function tests, repair maintenance, and adjustments on MTU and Volvo Penta products at customer sites.
• Conduct acceptance tests and verify installations according to MTU standards and policies.
• Prepare travel, service, and final reports; maintain service records.
• Respond to technical inquiries from customers and assist experts when needed.
• Ensure quality control, workshop and field organization, and adherence to health & safety procedures.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness both in‑house and on‑site.
• Support diagnostics, dismantling of engine components, inspection, parts re‑usability assessment, costing, and quotation preparation.
• Execute engine testing, inventory management, and job closing procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in engine maintenance, diagnostics, or similar mechanical engineering roles.
• Strong technical expertise with MTU and Volvo Penta power systems.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Bachelor degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
