Mechanical Engineering Internship – Design and Testing

About the role

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the development and delivery of tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and related equipment. This hands‑on internship involves designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting real hardware that will be deployed onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Design or support design of TBM components, support equipment, and material‑handling systems using 3D CAD.
• Create manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist with mechanism design, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, tooling, and test fixtures.
• Support fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical hardware.
• Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and design improvements while tracking project progress.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or another parametric 3D CAD platform.
• Hands‑on experience with fabrication, machining, assembly, robotics, or testing through university projects or competitions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work onsite in Dubai for the internship period.
