Mechanical Static Manager

About the role

Petrofac, a leading international service provider to the energy industry, is seeking a Mechanical Static Manager for its Sharjah office. The role supports the company’s transition to alternative energy sources while delivering EPC projects for major oil and gas clients. A hybrid working model is offered, with a requirement to be on‑site at least three days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and designers through the full project life‑cycle, from field development studies to detailed design, operational support and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical information for procurement, review ITTs, develop risk registers and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Conduct contract reviews, verify scope, HSE and technical requirements, and coordinate with procurement to expedite materials.
• Develop manpower charts, allocate resources, and monitor project schedules using PETROCEPT software.
• Review and approve design inputs from related disciplines, ensure compliance with ISO quality procedures, and manage vendor technical and commercial evaluations.
• Provide technical guidance on static equipment packages and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 23 years of relevant experience.
• At least 4–5 years of experience on ADNOC projects within the Mechanical Static discipline.
• Proven technical and managerial track record in EPC projects for the oil and gas industry.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering and static equipment design.
• Expertise in TEG, Desalter, Fired Heater, Flare and Boiler packages.
• Risk register development and contract review.
• Procurement planning and vendor technical evaluation.
• Use of PETROCEPT software for progress reporting.
• Knowledge of ISO quality procedures.
