Navigation Engineer

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a Navigation Engineer to enhance flight efficiency, support operational safety, and contribute to the airline’s global network expansion through advanced navigation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fuel and payload analyses to identify savings and drive fuel‑efficiency initiatives.
• Analyse, develop and publish safety‑critical navigation information, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform technical assessments of airports, destinations and alternate aerodromes to support network growth.
• Maintain aeronautical charting requirements and develop/validate Performance‑Based Navigation (PBN) procedures.
• Participate in simulator validation sessions and provide fuel valuation and forecasting for budgeting.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM).
• In‑depth knowledge of ICAO Annexes, IATA standards, and regulations from EASA/JAA and FAA.
• Sound knowledge of global airspace structures, air route systems, airport design criteria and aircraft navigation capabilities.
• Experience with flight planning systems, navigation databases and operational route assessment processes.
• Ability to analyse complex operational data and produce safety‑critical documentation.
