Operations Expert - High Speed Rail

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Operations Expert to provide specialist operational leadership across all phases of a major high‑speed rail programme in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for rail operations from concept development through testing, commissioning, trial running and revenue service.
• Lead the development of operational concepts, customer experience strategies and service specifications for the future high‑speed railway.
• Provide expertise in timetable planning, capacity analysis, operational modelling and simulation, ensuring alignment with the service vision.
• Review and challenge operational assumptions and outputs from consultants, contractors and technical partners.
• Support hazard identification, risk assessment and the creation of operational rules, processes and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of railway operations experience, including high‑speed rail projects.
• Proven experience developing operational concepts, timetables and service plans.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of railway operational rules, practices and cross‑boundary arrangements.
• Familiarity with rail control centre functions and operational simulation platforms such as Railsys and Variato.
• Experience with timetable planning, capacity analysis and railway service planning.
