Operations Manager – Land Freight

About the role

The Operations Manager – Land Freight will lead the planning, coordination and execution of all land‑based transportation activities. You will work closely with sales, suppliers and drivers to ensure efficient, cost‑effective movement of normal, out‑of‑gauge and special cargo across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a network of reliable trucks, drivers, transport companies and brokers.
• Plan cargo routes, obtain permits and identify cost‑effective solutions for sensitive and special shipments.
• Monitor the operations team, allocate tasks and coordinate with the Sales Team to guarantee smooth execution.
• Set KPIs, conduct performance evaluations and drive continuous improvement within the team.
• Establish SOPs, prioritize urgent jobs and ensure daily operational stability.
• Resolve customs clearance delays, documentation issues and other operational challenges.
• Optimize freight costs, routing and resources while preserving service quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews and provide regular updates to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation or operations management.
• Proven team‑leadership experience with a track record of setting KPIs and improving performance.
• Strong knowledge of shipping, customs clearance, documentation and UAE logistics practices (advantageous).
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, communication and negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with logistics or ERP systems.
• Valid driving license.
