OT Cybersecurity Engineer (6-month contract)

About the role

Stantec is seeking an experienced OT Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the cybersecurity effort for major Master Control Centre and Water Network projects in Abu Dhabi for a six‑month period. The role involves ensuring that OT/IT environments meet industry‑standard security frameworks and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall OT/IT cybersecurity for Master Control Centre and water network projects.
• Review and obtain approval for project Cyber Security Plans.
• Assess network architectures for proper segmentation, Industrial DMZ usage, and compliance with best‑practice zones & conduits.
• Evaluate security products (firewalls, IDS, IPS) for correct configuration and alignment with project requirements.
• Monitor deployment of network infrastructure devices, security appliances, and virtualization solutions.
• Analyze system logs, security events, and packet captures to identify threats and recommend mitigations.
• Conduct design reviews, gap analyses, and interface with EPC contractors and package vendors.
• Participate in cybersecurity workshops, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments with SCADA/control system contractors.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in OT/IT cybersecurity.
• Proven experience with industrial control systems, SCADA environments, and large‑scale network security projects.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks applicable to OT environments.
• Ability to lead workshops, produce technical documentation, and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
