About the role
The Pastry & Bakery Commis supports the culinary team at a Marriott hotel in Dubai, preparing a range of hot and cold bakery items, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, bakery items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and monitor food quality.
- Thaw frozen items, maintain food logs and ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish.
- Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, excess stock and out‑of‑stock items.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and coaching of team members as required.
- Follow safety, security and hygiene policies, report incidents and maintain a professional appearance.
Required profile
- Technical or vocational culinary education (or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of relevant pastry and bakery experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
