About the role

The Melia Desert Palm resort in Dubai is seeking an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to support the culinary team in delivering high‑quality desserts and pastries across its three restaurants, villa room service, and special events. You will work in a five‑star boutique environment that blends luxury hospitality with an equestrian theme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing, plating, and presenting a wide range of pastries, desserts, and confectionery items.
• Maintain consistency and quality standards for all pastry outputs.
• Support inventory control of pastry ingredients and kitchen equipment.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal menus and special banquet items.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or in a comparable role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
