About the role
Remitly is seeking a Dubai‑based Legal Counsel to drive its expansion across the Middle East and Asia Pacific (MEAPAC). The role focuses on licensing, regulatory compliance, payment agreement negotiations, and product development, working closely with business, product, compliance and finance teams.
Key responsibilities
- Support Remitly’s expansion initiatives across MEAPAC, including regulatory feasibility assessments for new markets.
- Manage licensing and authorization processes with financial regulators throughout the region (applications, filings, ongoing supervisory engagement).
- Advise on the regulatory framework applicable to financial institutions in MEAPAC jurisdictions.
- Monitor changes in payment‑related laws and recommend necessary adjustments to Remitly’s products and services.
- Review and negotiate strategic agreements with partners such as banks, payment processors and other regulated entities.
- Provide legal support for global projects and advise government‑relations and compliance teams on regulatory matters.
