PhD Position in Geophysics, Rock Physics & Remote Sensing

About the role

I am seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to conduct interdisciplinary research at the interface of geophysics, rock physics, and remote sensing, with applications to critical mineral exploration, environmental studies, and energy resources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate AI‑ and physics‑based geophysical, rock‑physics and remote‑sensing approaches for subsurface characterization.
• Apply methods to critical mineral exploration, environmental monitoring, and energy‑related investigations such as geothermal systems and subsurface storage.
• Perform regional seismic imaging interpretation and data integration across multiple Earth‑science datasets.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in geophysics, applied geophysics, remote sensing, machine learning or a closely related discipline.
• Experience with geophysical data processing and interpretation, remote‑sensing techniques, GIS, and/or rock physics.
• Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB) and quantitative data analysis.
