Pipeline/Welding & NDT Inspector

About the role

The Pipeline/Welding & NDT Inspector will join the Abu Dhabi office of Bureau Veritas India, reporting to the Team Leader. The role involves direct interaction with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure that all welding and non‑destructive testing activities meet international codes and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and enforce vendor/manufacturer quality system requirements.
• Review and verify vendor documents, material certificates, and purchase orders against relevant codes.
• Conduct material receiving inspections for permanent project material.
• Witness and endorse welding procedures and welder qualifications.
• Review, approve, and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and all welding/NDT works.
• Supervise post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) activities.
• Analyse radiographs and NDT reports, ensuring compliance before sign‑off.
• Prepare and manage non‑conformance reports and material control procedures.

Required profile

• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI certification with at least 5 years post‑certification experience.
• ASNT Level 2 certification in RT, MT, PT and UT with a minimum of 3 years practical experience.
• 3‑year diploma or 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• For diploma holders: >12 years industrial QA/QC experience; for bachelor holders: >10 years.
• Minimum 8 years (diploma) or 6 years (bachelor) experience in oil & gas pipeline welding and NDT.
• Training in Site Safety Induction, H2S, and HSE induction for specific projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS codes.
