Procurement Assistant – Electrical Components

About the role

The Procurement Assistant will support the procurement department in sourcing, purchasing and coordinating the timely delivery of electrical components, raw materials and other items required for switchgear manufacturing and electrical panel assembly. The role ensures cost‑effectiveness, quality and compliance with company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in purchasing electrical components and materials, preparing requisitions, purchase orders and related documents.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, compare price, quality, delivery time and payment terms.
• Coordinate with stores and inventory teams to verify stock, maintain minimum levels and match receipts with purchase orders.
• Maintain proper records of quotations, invoices, delivery notes and update procurement trackers and ERP system.
• Communicate with internal departments (production, engineering, planning, quality, accounts) to confirm material specifications and resolve supply issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain operations, preferably in switchgear or electrical panel manufacturing.

Required skills

• Knowledge of switchgear components and electrical materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP systems or procurement software.
• Ability to prepare purchase requisitions, orders and perform quotation comparisons.
• Strong documentation, data‑entry and record‑keeping skills.
