Planning Engineer – 5 Star Hotel Development

About the role

The Planning Engineer will lead the development, monitoring and control of the construction programme for a high‑end 5‑star hotel project. Working from the site office, you will coordinate design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover activities to keep the project on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the baseline programme using Primavera P6 and MS Project, covering all phases from shop‑drawings to handover.
• Develop detailed WBS, activity coding, logic links and perform critical‑path analysis.
• Integrate daily site progress, produce weekly look‑ahead schedules and monitor civil, MEP, architectural and finishing works.
• Track external works (landscape, utilities, infrastructure) and incorporate them into the master schedule.
• Identify delays, propose mitigation actions and support recovery planning.
• Prepare procurement schedules for MEP equipment, façade systems, specialist hotel systems (BMS, AV, security, kitchen equipment) and high‑end finishes.
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and highlight risks.
• Develop testing and commissioning programmes, track inspection requests and manage handover documentation.
• Support the Project Manager with programme updates during progress meetings and client approval tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in planning large‑scale, multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage planning across design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning phases.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with critical‑path management.
