Planning Manager – Retail

About the role

The Planning Manager will lead the development and execution of strategic merchandise financial plans for Al‑Futtaim’s retail business in the UAE. Working closely with Buying and Operations teams, the role focuses on driving sales and margin performance through accurate forecasting, assortment optimisation and effective inventory management.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the creation, communication and implementation of strategic merchandise financial plans.
• Partner with Buying and Operations to align forecasts, assortment and inventory strategies with financial targets.
• Manage six‑month seasonal merchandise plans and guide planners in presenting and defending those plans.
• Review and approve purchase and reorder quantities to ensure optimal product mix.
• Oversee receipts and inventory levels to meet weeks‑of‑supply objectives and collaborate on receipt flow.
• Develop markdown and promotional strategies to reduce aged inventory.
• Lead the Monthly Business Review process, presenting forecasts and top‑line results.
• Coordinate cross‑channel inventory allocation to maximise sales and profit.
