PMC Lead Technical Safety HSE Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Lead Technical Safety HSE Engineer to join its Oil, Gas & New Energies business in Abu Dhabi. The role will be based at the client’s office, supporting ADNOC Offshore projects and requiring occasional travel to Spain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of HSE programmes for high‑profile oil and gas projects.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE policies, procedures, local regulations and client expectations.
• Advise senior project management on HSE matters and provide strategic guidance.
• Liaise with partner companies, subcontractors and client representatives to align safety objectives.
• Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and HSE audits.
• Report HSE performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in HSE management within the oil and gas industry, preferably on offshore projects.
• Proven track record of leading HSE functions in a PMC environment.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Abu Dhabi and travel internationally as needed.
