Pool Lifeguard – Full‑Time

About the role

We are looking for a vigilant, customer‑focused Pool Lifeguard to join our team at Southern Sun Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will ensure the safety and enjoyment of all pool users while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise swimmers from designated lifeguard stations, maintaining constant visual contact and identifying potential risks.
• Enforce pool rules and safety regulations consistently to prevent accidents.
• Perform water rescues, administer first aid, CPR and use an AED in accordance with training.
• Complete incident reports and liaise with management and emergency services when required.
• Conduct regular poolside checks, monitor water clarity and report hazards or maintenance issues.
• Assist with basic pool maintenance, including cleaning deck areas and checking safety equipment.
• Provide friendly customer service, answering queries about pool facilities and safety guidance.
• Support swim lesson instructors and maintain appropriate supervision ratios during public sessions.

Required profile

• Valid ADQCC lifeguard qualification and current first aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Previous lifeguard experience, preferably in a hotel or leisure centre.
• Excellent observational skills and ability to stay alert for extended periods.
• Calm under pressure with decisive decision‑making in emergencies.
• Good verbal communication in English and ability to interact courteously with guests of all ages.
• Physically fit, confident swimmer able to perform rescues.
• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
