Pool Maintenance Helper

About the role

The Pool Maintenance Helper will ensure the swimming pools, fountains and related water features at Meliá Desert Palm are safe, clean and operating at optimal performance. Working closely with the housekeeping team, you will deliver high‑quality water experiences for guests in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain pools, fountains, water systems, filters, pumps and heat pumps.
• Maintain proper chemical balance, monitoring pH, chlorine, alkalinity, hardness, cyanuric acid and total dissolved solids.
• Clean pool decks and surrounding areas, and perform routine deck maintenance.
• Repair electrical and mechanical equipment, including underwater and surface lighting.
• Inspect and fix corrosion, cracks or leaks in pool and fountain structures.
• Log daily water‑quality readings and report any equipment faults or water‑quality issues to management.
• Collaborate with housekeeping for daily pool cleaning tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in pool maintenance or a similar role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of proper pool cleaning and maintenance methods.
• Familiarity with swimming‑pool chemicals and their correct usage.
