Post Fixture Vessel Operator

About the role

The Post Fixture Vessel Operator will drive operational excellence for dry‑bulk voyages, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable execution. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role provides proactive oversight of assigned vessels, handling end‑to‑end voyage planning, coordination and strict compliance with charter party terms.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact (24x7) for assigned vessels, managing daily operational matters.
• Plan voyages efficiently, reviewing charter party and sales contracts, and issue detailed voyage instructions.
• Coordinate appointments with agents, weather routing companies and P&I clubs, and oversee bunker arrangements.
• Liaise with masters, charterers, brokers and agents to ensure smooth vessel operations.
• Review and approve stowage plans, ensuring loading complies with charter party requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date Vessel Operations Electronic Files in chronological order.
• Handle operational finance tasks such as receivables, payables, bunker invoices and agency disbursements for the assigned vessels.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of dry‑bulk shipping operations and charter party terms.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage 24‑hour operational demands.
• Proven experience in coordinating with masters, agents, brokers and charterers.
• Attention to detail for document management and financial transactions.
