PowerBuilder Developer – Remote Contract

About the role

This remote contract role is for an experienced PowerBuilder Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications for a partner company based in the United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support enterprise applications based on documented business requirements.
• Provide detailed effort estimates across the software development lifecycle and assess service requests to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define application architecture, development requirements, integrations, and technology solutions.
• Develop application code, technical specifications, system architecture components, and technical interfaces using PowerBuilder and related technologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain relational databases, stored procedures, and associated data‑processing components.
• Integrate third‑party tools and applications while reviewing system and integration testing activities.
• Participate in quality‑assurance activities, including design reviews, code reviews, testing, and validation of functional and non‑functional components.
• Analyze data integrity issues, troubleshoot application problems, and implement corrective solutions.
• Provide ongoing production support and contribute to problem resolution for existing applications.
• Document application code, system configurations, maintenance procedures, operational processes, deployment activities, and transition requirements.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of experience developing new application solutions, maintaining existing applications, and providing ongoing production support.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a PowerBuilder Developer.
• At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, and analyzing relational databases, including stored procedures.
• Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining and enhancing legacy applications.
• Strong operational knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and experience with version control systems such as Team Foundation Server.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
