Practical Nurse – Radiology

About the role
We are seeking a Practical Nurse to join the radiology department at SKMC in Abu Dhabi. The role supports patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centred services in line with the organisation’s mission and the Abu Dhabi nursing standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care according to organisational policies and unit scope of service.
- Maintain a high standard of nursing care using evidence‑based guidelines and unit‑specific competencies.
- Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provide nursing care and assist with activities of daily living, including meal distribution and hygiene support.
- Act as a patient advocate, upholding dignity and rights at all times.
- Understand basic medication indications, recognise side effects and report them to the Registered Nurse.
- Communicate observations, care provided and any significant changes in patient condition promptly to the Registered Nurse.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with organisational policies.
- Document care accurately and use electronic medical records for information management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver effective, patient‑centred care.
- Support new staff, nursing students and other team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient, family and organisational information.
- Assist with complaint management, administrative duties and ensure a safe, secure unit environment by reporting risks and incidents.
Required profile
- Understands and promotes the organisation’s mission, vision and values.
- Adheres to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi.
- Responsible and accountable for personal actions.
- Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Basic knowledge of medication indications and side‑effects.
- Ability to report significant patient changes promptly.
- Commitment to patient dignity, rights and confidentiality.
- Willingness to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Readiness to support new staff and nursing students.
- Follows complaint management and risk reporting procedures.
