Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Start October

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi on a maternity‑cover basis starting in October 2026. The role involves delivering the English National Curriculum to a diverse primary cohort and supporting the school’s commitment to high academic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement department policies and practices aligned with the school’s vision and high standards.
• Establish, monitor and evaluate short‑, medium‑ and long‑term plans for departmental development.
• Use data effectively to identify under‑achieving students and create targeted action plans.
• Analyse and interpret school data to inform policies and contribute to SEF writing.
• Ensure schemes of work are up‑to‑date, inclusive of SEN/POD, G&T and EAL provision.
• Maintain curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all ability ranges.
• Set clear expectations for staff regarding achievement, teaching quality and behaviour.
• Evaluate teaching and learning quality, identify best practice and drive improvement.
• Contribute to the school’s CAS programme and support after‑school revision sessions.

Required profile

• Proven track record of raising standards and closing learning gaps.
• Secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
• Demonstrated leadership experience at various levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Alignment with the school’s core values and appreciation of regional cultural values.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of the English National Curriculum for primary education.
