Principal Data Scientist – Advanced ML & MLOps Lead

About the role

Lead the development and deployment of advanced machine learning solutions that power personalized customer decisioning at RAKBANK, driving best‑in‑class modeling, MLOps, and data engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy propensity and next‑best‑action models for cross‑sell and upsell initiatives.
• Implement production‑grade ML pipelines using Airflow, MLflow, or Kubeflow and ensure model monitoring, drift detection, and observability.
• Lead and mentor a team of senior data scientists while working closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a senior data scientist, preferably in the banking sector.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms and Generative AI technologies.

Required skills

• Expert‑level Python programming; familiarity with R or Scala.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, Dask or Ray.
• Building production ML pipelines using Airflow, MLflow or Kubeflow.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Deploying models via APIs or streaming platforms like Kafka or Flink; model monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana or Evidently.
• Working knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP or Azure) and MLOps tools such as SageMaker or Vertex AI.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, large language models, embeddings, prompt engineering and vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone).
