Principal Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

ADASI is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of safety‑critical avionics and flight‑control software. The role combines deep technical expertise with ownership of the full software lifecycle in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for aerospace systems, ensuring deterministic real‑time performance.
• Translate control algorithms and system requirements into efficient C/C++ code for ARM and STM32 microcontrollers.
• Integrate software with hardware, conduct rigorous testing, and validate compliance with DO‑178C and DO‑254 standards.
• Optimize code for memory usage, power consumption, and execution speed while adhering to coding standards.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and results.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and resolve defects through structured debugging.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in aerospace or other safety‑critical domains.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, drive solutions from concept to deployment, and take full ownership of deliverables.
