Principal Engineer - Bridges & Tunnels

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to lead the design and delivery of major bridge, tunnel, interchange and related transportation infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from concept through detailed design and construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of bridges, tunnels, flyovers, interchanges, viaducts, retaining structures, underpasses and other transportation structures.
• Perform and supervise structural analysis, design calculations, technical reports, specifications and submissions.
• Review and approve engineering designs to ensure compliance with project requirements, local authority regulations and international codes.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including highways, drainage, geotechnical, utilities and traffic.
• Drive value engineering, constructability reviews and design innovation.
• Manage technical risk and support construction phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience (144 months) in bridge and tunnel design, preferably in the UAE.
• Demonstrated experience with RTA approvals and familiarity with RTA standards and processes.
• Strong background in structural analysis, design calculations and technical documentation.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
