Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

About the role

The Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will lead the design and execution of instrumentation and control systems for complex projects. Working independently with minimal guidance, the role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to solve non‑standard engineering challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed analyses and design in accordance with project specifications, codes and standards.
• Prepare accurate design calculations, reports and procedures.
• Lead medium to large engineering teams, managing scope, schedule, budget and resource allocation.
• Coordinate interfaces and deliverables across disciplines and act as the discipline representative in project meetings.
• Interpret contractual requirements, raise change notifications and ensure compliance with certifying authorities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, preferably in large‑scale projects.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project documentation, MDR and industry standards.
