About the role

The Principal Specialist will lead the Infrastructure and Smart Applications sections, ensuring they operate reliably, securely and in line with the Authority’s strategic goals. This senior position oversees the full lifecycle of IT services, from design and integration to continuous monitoring and improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end operations of Infrastructure and Smart Applications, guaranteeing availability, reliability and security.
• Integrate infrastructure capabilities with application requirements to ensure scalability and interoperability.
• Manage business continuity, disaster recovery, backup and resilience planning, including regular testing and reporting.
• Monitor performance through KPIs and service metrics, driving efficiency, uptime and user satisfaction.
• Govern change, release and incident management processes to minimise risk.
• Ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity policies, data‑protection standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee vendor performance, technology controls and service agreements to secure value for money.
• Lead incident response, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Supervise user support, system training and adoption initiatives.
• Prepare operational reports for executive leadership covering performance, risks and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing large‑scale IT infrastructure and application environments.
• Strong background in IT operations, service management and ITIL best practices.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity controls, network security and data‑protection standards.
• Proven ability to design and govern enterprise‑wide architecture and systems integration.
• Experience with business continuity, disaster recovery planning and vendor management.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
