Production Planning Engineer

About the role

The Production Planning Engineer supports Etihad Airway’s safety, airworthiness and economic goals by managing capacity planning for Line and Light Maintenance. Reporting to the Lead Production Planning Engineer, the role ensures efficient use of tools and resources to keep aircraft serviceable and dispatch reliability high.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project plans to meet business requirements defined by the Lead Production Planning Engineer.
• Monitor Technical Operations processes to ensure seamless workflow and achievement of milestones.
• Manage capacity‑planning tools to maintain consistent aircraft serviceability.
• Establish internal procedures and support other departments with forecasting and capacity planning.
• Review monthly capacity trends for Line & Light Maintenance and draft budget plans for additional resources.
• Check the 14‑day work‑load calendar and adjust plans for AOG or planned casualty inputs.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to secure infrastructure such as hangars, cranes, docking stations and special tools.
• Ensure all work complies with approved manuals, safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field with at least 2 years relevant experience, or a Diploma/Aircraft License with 3‑5 years experience.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations and maintenance policies.
• Ability to work proactively in a fast‑paced maintenance environment.

Required skills

• Experience with maintenance forecasting tools; AMOS knowledge is a plus.
