Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

About the role

The Principal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will lead complex instrumentation and control challenges for large‑scale projects, working with minimal supervision. This senior position requires deep technical expertise and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed design analyses in line with project specifications, codes and standards.
• Lead medium to large engineering teams, manage scope, schedule and budget, and act as the discipline representative in client and authority meetings.
• Prepare and approve design calculations, reports, procedures, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, procurement and project management to ensure clash‑free designs and timely delivery of deliverables.
• Review and approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, ensuring compliance with project requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, preferably in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex technical projects.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with MDR Global Procedures, API standards and relevant certification authorities.
