Professor or Associate Professor in Health Professions Education

About the role

The College of Medicine at Gulf Medical University is seeking a dynamic faculty member to lead and enhance health professions education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate programs, drive innovative educational initiatives, and contribute to scholarly activity aligned with institutional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to curriculum design, review, and enhancement across health professions programs.
• Support implementation of innovative teaching methodologies such as CBME, PBL, simulation‑based learning, and digital learning.
• Drive faculty development initiatives in teaching, assessment, and best educational practices.
• Contribute to academic quality assurance and accreditation processes (CAA and international standards).
• Conduct and publish research in health professions education.
• Provide academic leadership, mentoring, and guidance to faculty and students.
• Support interdisciplinary collaboration across colleges and programs.
• Participate in institutional committees and strategic academic initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Health Professions Education, Medical Education, or a related field.
• Additional clinical or healthcare background is an advantage.
• Associate Professor: minimum 8–10 years of academic experience; Professor: minimum 10–15 years with proven leadership.
• Strong track record in teaching, research publications, and curriculum development.
• Experience with accreditation and quality‑assurance processes.
