Project Engineer - Electrical (UAE Nationals Only)

About the role

As part of AECOM’s commitment to Emiratisation and UAE labour law, this position is open only to UAE nationals with a family book. The role involves leading electrical design for dry utilities and infrastructure projects from concept through to IFC stage.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design and calculations for primary substations, EHV/HV/LV corridors, distribution and pocket substations up to 33 kV.
• Design telecommunication infrastructure including ducts, manholes and GSM tower coverage requirements.
• Prepare street lighting designs, load schedules, single‑line diagrams and landscape lighting layouts.
• Coordinate with wet, roads, transportation, landscape and building disciplines.
• Manage design and approval processes with clients, stakeholders and local authorities, including NOC submissions and RFIs.
• Utilise BIM tools and Revit for detailed design and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; UAE national with a family book.
• More than 3 years of design‑only experience on infrastructure projects; construction supervision experience not required.
• Knowledge of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and KSA authority guidelines and standards.

Required skills

• Revit and BIM proficiency.
• Electrical design of substations, HV/LV networks and street lighting.
• Telecommunication network design (ducts, manholes, GSM coverage).
• Utility corridor space planning and NOC preparation.
