Project Management Unit Head (UAE Nationals)

About the role

The Project Management Unit Head will lead the PMO function, ensuring strategic and operational projects are planned, governed, executed and reported effectively. This senior position reports to senior leadership and works closely with project owners and cross‑functional teams to align delivery with organisational priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project management frameworks, standards, methodologies and governance mechanisms.
• Oversee the portfolio of strategic and operational projects, handling prioritisation, sequencing and capacity planning.
• Monitor project delivery against scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Establish PMO governance, reporting dashboards and executive‑level project reporting.
• Lead risk, issue and change management, ensuring timely escalation of critical matters.
• Manage cross‑project and cross‑functional dependencies and support resource planning.
• Track project financials, procurement performance, budgets, forecasts and expenditures.
• Conduct post‑implementation reviews, benefits realisation and lessons‑learned sessions.
• Coach, develop and lead the Project Management Unit team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in project management, PMO, strategic planning or institutional strategy roles.
• Proven track record managing complex project portfolios and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong experience in government or semi‑government environments.
