Project Manager – Design Phase (Dubai)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the pre‑contract design phase of infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will coordinate design teams, stakeholders and consultants to ensure projects progress on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all design‑phase activities from initiation through pre‑contract completion.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules and budgets aligned with organisational objectives.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, clients, consultants and external stakeholders.
• Conduct design reviews and quality‑assurance checks to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Manage design consultant contracts, scope of work and deliverables.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, meeting minutes and compliance records.
• Coordinate with procurement and finance to manage design‑related budgets and expenditures.
• Ensure adherence to UAE regulations and industry best practices throughout the design phase.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of project‑management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a built‑environment discipline.
• International accreditation (e.g., MIStructE, MICE, RIBA, AIA, PMP) preferred.
• Proven expertise in managing design projects within the construction sector.
