Psychiatric Nurse

About the role

The Psychiatric Nurse provides clinical and operational support to the psychiatrist, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of psychiatry services. The role involves patient preparation, documentation, coordination, and assistance with psychological assessments under clinician direction.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day clinical activities for the psychiatrist and psychiatry service.
• Prepare patients, coordinate clinical workflow, manage follow‑up and maintain documentation.
• Take and record vital signs when required.
• Educate patients about prescribed medications within nursing scope.
• Assist with assessment administration, material handling and data collection under guidance.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and coordinate with front‑of‑house and back‑office teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Valid DHA Registered Nurse licence or eligibility for licensing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in mental health or outpatient settings.
• Interest or experience in psychiatry, psychological assessment or neurodevelopmental services.
