QA Engineer

About the role

The QA Engineer will ensure delivery of high‑quality, secure and reliable software for the BEACON RED program. You will design, execute and automate functional, regression, integration, API and UI test cases, identifying defects early in the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and run functional, regression, integration, API and UI test cases.
• Develop and maintain automated UI/API test scripts using approved frameworks.
• Identify, document, triage and perform root‑cause analysis of defects.
• Participate in planning, backlog grooming and requirement reviews to ensure testability.
• Validate that features meet acceptance criteria, non‑functional requirements and internal quality standards before release.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
• Execute smoke, sanity and release validation tests for each deployment.
• Perform performance, load and security testing where required.
• Maintain QA documentation such as test plans, reports and regression suites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 5‑7 years of QA/testing experience in software development.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Hands‑on experience with test management and automation tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile and DevOps practices.

Required skills

• Python or Golang programming.
• Selenium, Playwright or Cypress for UI automation.
• Postman, REST Assured for API testing.
• SQL and database validation.
• Git, GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
• JMeter or Locust for performance testing.
• Basic security testing concepts (OWASP Top 10).
