Radiology Coordinator – General Radiology

About the role

The Radiology Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure smooth workflow, effective communication, and high‑quality patient care within the General Radiology department.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day coordination of diagnostic imaging services across all modalities.
• Manage appointment scheduling for NM, IR, Breast Imaging, MSK and other modalities.
• Optimize radiology scheduling workflows to maximize equipment utilization and reduce patient wait times.
• Serve as primary liaison between patients, referring physicians, nursing staff, and front‑desk teams.
• Verify insurance approvals and pre‑authorizations in line with compliance standards.
• Provide patients with preparation instructions and confirmation calls.
• Handle patient inquiries and resolve minor complaints.
• Maintain accurate data in hospital systems, including patient demographics, orders, and imaging records.
• Support quality and safety initiatives, including radiation safety and infection control.
• Assist with internal audits, departmental reporting, and other administrative tasks.
• Facilitate radiologists’ workflow by ensuring timely access to patient records and prior imaging.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a large healthcare facility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hospital information systems for scheduling and patient data management.
• Knowledge of DOH/HAAD regulations, patient confidentiality, and imaging department protocols.
• Understanding of radiation safety and infection control standards.
