Research and Development Officer

About the role

The Research and Development Officer will support the development, testing and improvement of products, processes and technical documentation. This role involves planning and conducting experiments, analysing results, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to turn research findings into practical, regulatory‑compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments, prototypes and trials, ensuring safety and reproducibility.
• Collect, record and analyse experimental data using statistical and analytical methods.
• Prepare clear summaries, charts and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support new product development, material selection, process parameters and prototype refinement.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks, test records and upload documents to the document management system.
• Draft and review technical specifications, test plans and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure R&D activities comply with quality systems, regulatory requirements and health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Applied Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in research, product development or laboratory roles within a relevant industry.
• Practical experience with experimental design, testing methodologies and data analysis.

Required skills

• Technical writing for reports, procedures and specifications.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment and test methods.
• Use of analytical tools and software for data handling, statistics and reporting (e.g., Excel, statistical packages).
• Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements and risk‑assessment techniques.
• Competence in maintaining audit‑ready records and document‑control processes.
