About the role

The Respiratory Therapist at SKMC provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients, working independently or under senior supervision to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy procedures according to established policies and physician orders.
• Operate mechanical ventilators, monitor patient responses, and adjust settings based on clinical assessment.
• Develop and modify respiratory care plans for patients with cardiopulmonary diseases.
• Assist physicians and code teams during cardiac or respiratory arrest situations.
• Provide advanced emergency airway care following approved protocols.
• Support pulmonary diagnostic procedures as required.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper functioning of respiratory care equipment.
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, reporting shortages and ordering replenishments.
• Document all interventions accurately in electronic and written records.
• Promote quality, safety, and infection control standards in all activities.

Required profile

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist able to work independently or under supervision.
• Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
