Restaurant Manager – Italian Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our Italian restaurant at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring the delivery of Fairmont’s luxury service standards, and creating memorable experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all front‑of‑house activities, including opening and closing procedures, reservations, seating, and guest flow.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to guarantee timely, high‑quality food service and maintain food presentation standards.
• Conduct daily briefings and training sessions with the restaurant team to reinforce service standards and product knowledge.
• Handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly, building strong relationships and encouraging repeat business.
• Monitor daily sales, control labour costs through effective scheduling, and manage operating expenses to meet revenue and profitability targets.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff performance, ensuring compliance with grooming, hygiene, and uniform policies.
• Maintain the restaurant’s appearance, cleanliness, and ambiance in line with Fairmont luxury standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a fine‑dining or upscale restaurant, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills with a focus on teamwork and employee engagement.
• Excellent guest‑service orientation and the ability to resolve issues professionally.
• Solid understanding of financial reports, budgeting, and cost‑control measures.
