Satellite Spectrum Engineer

About the role

The Satellite Spectrum Engineer will support the university's satellite mission teams and ground segment operations by managing spectrum licensing and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will work closely with both technical and regulatory stakeholders to keep satellite communications aligned with international and local rules.

Key responsibilities

• Assist satellite mission teams with ITU filing preparation, submission, and status monitoring.
• Collaborate with ground segment teams to prepare and submit licensing applications for ground stations.
• Analyze spectrum usage, assess interference risks, and provide recommendations for optimal frequency allocation.
• Monitor changes in global and regional spectrum regulations and evaluate their impact on ongoing projects.
• Maintain detailed records of filings, licensing activities, and regulatory communications, and produce concise compliance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Regulatory Policy, Electrical Engineering, Space Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of spectrum management and regulatory frameworks such as ITU and TDRA.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess spectrum usage and licensing requirements.
• Proficiency in preparing technical documentation and regulatory filings.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with authorities and internal teams.
