Scent Design Associate – Fine Fragrance

About the role

The Scent Design Associate will work in IFF's Scent Creative Center in Dubai, collaborating across functions to develop new fragrance themes, technologies and consumer solutions. You will help shape olfactive strategies and guide perfumers toward innovative, market‑relevant creations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage go‑to‑market projects and implement innovative fragrance development strategies.
• Connect market, customer and consumer needs to recommend competitive product solutions.
• Collaborate with perfumers, technical, consumer insights and marketing teams to uncover challenges and develop new fragrance solutions.
• Define consumer insights strategies to gain competitive advantage and build winning solutions.
• Provide creative direction and olfactive guidance to perfumers, stimulating exploration and differentiation.

Required profile

• Excellent olfactive communication skills – ability to discriminate, describe and recall odors.
• Strong understanding of market/consumer trends and preferences.
• Basic technical understanding of fragrance formulations and stability assessment.
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Perfumery, Science, Chemistry, Consumer Science, Product Research or related field.
• Fluent in English.

Required skills

• Fragrance ingredient and technology knowledge to communicate with technical teams and perfumers.
• Project management skills with a disciplined, process‑oriented approach.
