School Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a qualified School Nurse to join our Dubai school community, providing essential health support to students and staff while ensuring compliance with UAE health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage students’ health issues, including administering medication, vaccines and appropriate treatments.
• Inspect lunch boxes and canteen food, and deliver healthy‑eating talks to promote a healthy environment.
• Support health and safety by coordinating regular checks with the Facilities Manager.
• Handle all DHA/HAAD compliance matters, including approvals, reporting and statistics.
• Maintain and stock First Aid kits according to regulatory standards.
• Conduct school medical examinations for designated year groups.
• Communicate health and safety information to parents.
• Administer DHA/HAAD‑approved vaccinations within the school.
• Liaise with the Children’s Health department at DHA/HAAD.
• Provide care and management for students with specific health needs, such as diabetes.
• Participate as a member of the Health and Safety Committee.
• Collaborate with the school on child protection initiatives.
• Record clinic visits in the school’s proactive health system.

Required profile

• Approved nursing qualification recognized by DHA/HAAD.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or school clinic setting.
• Extensive knowledge of primary health care, especially for families and children.
• Ability to advise colleagues on effective health‑care practices for young people.
• Caring, empathetic, non‑judgmental and approachable attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and a high degree of confidentiality.
