Specialist Emergency Medicine – SEHA Clinics

About the role

The Specialist Emergency Medicine role at SEHA Clinics provides advanced clinical care to patients presenting with acute medical conditions. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Physician, the specialist ensures high‑quality emergency services while supporting departmental initiatives and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards for emergency medicine.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Supervise junior medical staff, sharing responsibility for their patient care.
• Ensure continuous medical coverage within the division and participate in on‑call rotations, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Collaborate with other specialties and support services to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and audit activities.
• Prepare patients for procedures, obtain informed consent, and communicate clinical information to patients and families.
• Support reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents and contribute to departmental policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration to practice in the United Arab Emirates.
• Specialist qualification or extensive experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Consultant Physician and to supervise junior staff.
• Commitment to adhering to hospital policies, performance management processes, and quality‑safety standards.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
