Senior Accountant

About the role

A qualified and experienced Senior Accountant is sought to join the team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in corporate accounting, financial reporting and financial management, with a thorough understanding of UAE taxation, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS, and oversee month-end and year-end closing.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and statutory requirements, and prepare and submit VAT returns and coordinate Corporate Tax filings.
• Monitor cash flow, operating expenses, supplier payments and customer collections; prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses and management reports.
• Handle payroll accounting, WPS requirements and employee end-of-service benefit calculations.
• Review invoices, payment requests and transactions, maintain accurate records and coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks and authorities.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies, strengthen internal controls and provide financial analysis to support management decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional accounting experience; previous UAE accounting experience preferred.
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle corporate accounting independently.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or CMA are an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, IFRS and financial regulations.
• Experience in financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliations, closing and budgeting.
• Knowledge of UAE payroll regulations, WPS and end-of-service benefits.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Odoo ERP experience preferred.
• Analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
