Finance Manager - Construction & Development

About the role

An experienced and strategic Finance Manager is sought, reporting to the Managing Director / Group CEO, with a strong background in the construction and development industry. The ideal candidate holds an ACCA qualification with UAE equivalency certification and has 7-10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including building, managing and developing finance teams. The role covers financial operations, budgeting, reporting, cash flow, compliance and project financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full finance function, including accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and compliance.
• Build, train and develop a finance team, setting roles, processes and performance standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee project costing, budget control, cash flow forecasting and financial performance analysis for construction and development projects.
• Monitor project profitability, cost variances, contractor payments, subcontractor accounts and project cash needs.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and long-term financial plans.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, working capital, payables, receivables and supplier payment cycles.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax and VAT, coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks and regulators, and implement internal financial controls.
• Review contracts, payment applications, variations, retention and project financial documents.
• Support feasibility studies, project financing, investment analysis and business development, and advise senior management on risks and options.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing, maintain accurate records, supervise payroll and WPS compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• ACCA qualification or equivalency is required.
• Minimum 7-10 years of finance experience, including at least 3-5 years in a senior finance or leadership role.
• Strong background in the construction and development industry.
• Proven experience building and managing finance teams.

Required skills

• Project accounting, cost control, budgeting, cash flow management and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, WPS and financial regulations.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and strong MS Excel skills.
• Analytical, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
