Senior Accountant

About the role

A holding group with subsidiaries and affiliates set up across multiple jurisdictions is looking for a Senior Accountant. The role covers daily financial operations, audit and compliance support, and monthly management reporting, with a focus on GAAP, IFRS and UAE VAT.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day financial operations, including accounting and bookkeeping, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Monitor financial performance, identify improvements and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
• Supervise and/or take part in petty cash accounting, including disbursements, reconciliations and internal controls
• Coordinate and support external and internal audits, and provide accurate information in a timely way
• Prepare financial reports, statements and forecasts for management, shareholders and regulators, delivering full annual statements and monthly management reports with commentary
• Handle prepayments, capitalization of work on projects and accruals; proficiency in these areas is essential
• Deep understanding of GAAP, IFRS and UAE VAT is essential
• Foster a collaborative environment, build relationships with cross-functional teams, support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc reports and stay updated on blockchain industry trends

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 5+ years of proven experience as an accountant for a holding group with subsidiaries and affiliates in multiple jurisdictions
• Previous exposure to the cryptocurrency industry is a strong advantage
• Relevant professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA or CPA is preferred
