Senior Accountant - MIS Analyst

About the role

PACT Employment is hiring a Senior Accountant cum MIS Analyst in Dubai on a full-time basis. The role keeps the company's financial records accurate and reliable by reviewing transactions and performing reconciliations across bank, ledger, intercompany and VAT accounts, while turning financial data into timely MIS reports for management. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with analytical skills and hands-on knowledge of UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify daily accounting entries (sales, purchases, payments, receipts, journals) for accuracy, correct coding and supporting documents.
• Check vendor invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes (three-way match) before payment approval.
• Identify errors, duplicate entries and unusual transactions and ensure they are corrected promptly.
• Ensure all transactions follow company policies, approval matrices and internal controls.
• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile AR/AP sub-ledgers with the general ledger, including customer and supplier statements.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts such as prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, petty cash and employee advances.
• Reconcile VAT accounts with VAT returns and the general ledger, and keep reconciliation schedules audit-ready.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, prepare audit schedules and recommend improvements to internal controls.
• Guide and review junior accountants and accounts assistants, and look for ways to automate and streamline accounting and reporting.

Required profile

• Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 5-8 years of accounting experience, including at least 2-3 years in a senior or MIS reporting role.
• UAE or GCC experience required or highly preferred.
• Proven ability to maintain accurate financial records through bank, ledger, intercompany and VAT account reconciliations.
• Strong analytical skills and clear communication when presenting reports to management.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query).
• Power BI or similar is an advantage.
