Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join a fast‑growing fintech team in the United Arab Emirates. You will help build and scale secure, high‑performance services that power digital‑asset and blockchain platforms used by a global user base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for financial and blockchain platforms.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate requirements into efficient architectures.
• Enhance existing Node.js services for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Create new microservices and integrate them via RPC or other service‑communication methods.
• Write and optimise complex queries for operational, compliance, and reporting needs.
• Apply strong security standards to protect platform integrity and user data.
• Support high‑availability and real‑time responsiveness as the platform scales globally.
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js in backend development.
• Proven experience building high‑scale, distributed platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with both relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Solid understanding of backend security principles and secure API design.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical environments.
