Senior Backend Developer – Luxury Hospitality Tech

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the Holdings Team of FIVE Hotels and Resorts. You will design, build and maintain the core services that power our award‑winning luxury hotel portfolio, working in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development and ongoing maintenance of robust backend systems.
• Manage and mentor a team of four developers, providing technical direction and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with front‑end engineers, UX/UI designers and the Digital Transformation team to deliver high‑quality digital solutions.
• Optimize server‑side performance, ensuring scalability and responsiveness.
• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs and integrate third‑party services.
• Maintain code quality through clean, scalable code, version control and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (master’s preferred).
• 5‑7 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency with Node.js, Python, Java or Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Strong knowledge of API design (REST, GraphQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Solid understanding of security best practices, encryption, authentication and access control.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
• Ability to work in an agile, fast‑moving environment; hospitality or real‑estate experience is a plus.
